Bethany Methodist Home Visit

On the 19th of December, 2009, a group of working adults organised a trip down to Bethany Methodist Home at Chua Chu Kang in hope of bringing some cheer to the old folks who are staying there.

Most of the residents are suffering from dementia and are wheel-chaired bound which make it difficult for them to travel outside the home. Thus the group decided to bring them out for some fresh air and new sights around the neighbourhood and parks of Chua Chu Kang.

During the walk, they spent time talking, singing and taking photographs with them and also brought drinks for them. Most of the elderly were thrilled at the chance of being able to have a trip out of the Nursing home. Before the elderly returned to their Home for lunch, the group presented them with the taken photos. Though many are suffering from dementia, they were very appreciative of the gesture which the volunteers could felt it from the way that their eyes lit up as well as from the big smiles on their faces.
