Greetings from Hope Centre (S)!

In 2010, we see the economy starting to recover from the recession last year. As we looked back at year 2009, it was indeed a blessing in spite of the economic recession, Hope Centre was still able to bless the less-privileged in the community.

Through donations from generous individuals and corporate organisations, as well as proceeds raised from a number of fundraising projects, more than $100,000 was raised last year for the Hope Centre's Annual Bursary Awards. In October 2009, Hope Centre presented more than 300 bursaries and book vouchers to students from low-income families at our Annual Bursary Awards ceremony at The Grassroots Club. Hope Centre also continued various youth and STEP-UP programmes for schools in the North-Eastern region of Singapore.

This year, Hope Centre aims to continue raising funds for the Annual Bursary Awards to benefit at least 300 needy students and families again. We will also be looking into organising programmes which will benefit the youths and families who were awarded our Bursary Awards. We believe in helping students and families holistically, not just financially by equipping them with skills beneficial to their studies or family well-being.
