ABOUT US

Vision

Nurturing our Youth to be Dream Achievers

Mission

We empower our youth to live their dreams and contribute back to their communities
Our paradigm for turning Youth to be purposeful contributors for the good in society involves 5 steps summarised by the acronym D.R.E.A.M.:

Dare to dream - we believe Youth ought to have a clear idea of what they can be in life and want to help them discover it

Realign their path - we hope to help Youth understand their uniqueness and how to channel their energy and creativity positively with their dream in mind

Engage in truth - we collaborate with Youth to equip themselves with necessary knowledge and know how to make their dream come true

Anticipate their problems - we empower Youth to cope with the reality of failure and how to fail forward toward their dream

Manage their successes - we aim to sustain them on the path of repeated success by helping other Youth fulfil their dreams

Background

Hope Centre is a volunteer welfare organization (ROS 0276/96WEL) birthed in 1997 by 6 young professionals who not only shared friendship but a strong conviction to develop generations of young people committed to enhancing the lives of the urban poor in Singapore and beyond.

The original 6 consisting of an accountant, a dental surgeon, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, a public affairs executive and a violin instructor - put in hours after work, three times a week, to organise fund-raising events. Our first projects included a May Day clean-up along the East Coast beach, a musical for youths and a blood donation drive.

Since then, we have expanded our multinational volunteer base to around 1000 strong, ranging from youth to young families. We have primarily focused our efforts empowering both youth and young families through our service-learning based projects and programs in the North East region.

We have been granted charitable status (Charity Registration no. 1308) and a member of the National Council of Social Services.

Hope Centre (S) is also affiliated to Hope Church (S), serving the community regardless of race, culture, language or religion.
